I had read about the wonders of doing a car insurance price comparison to save money on premiums. I did feel as if my bill was very high. I had one accident, but it was a small one a couple of years ago. But that one accident caused my old insurer to give me a substantial “rate up”, or disallowed me from the best auto insurance discounts!
The Insurance Quote Form Was Simple!
Well I went through the online auto insurance quote form, and it did not take very long – maybe about 4 minutes – and the information they wanted was fairly basic. They needed to know things like my age, where I lived, what sort of car I drove, and how much I drove my car. Again, this was all the same basic stuff that any insurance agent would ask you. It just meant I keyed it into a secure form.
After I completed the form, I got a list of local insurers who wanted the business of people like me! Apparently the program can take your basic information and find the right companies to send you to. I had the option of contacting these insurers, getting quotes online, or of having the insurance agents call me.
I did save some money on my car insurance bills!
I liked the idea of having emailed quotes because I could save the plans in writing for future reference. I could also get more information at my convenience. In the end, I saved about $50 a month by getting the same coverage from an insurer who forgave my one lousy accident in 10 years! Car accident insurance shopping does not have to be an awful, painful, and slow process if you shop this way. And $50 may not sound like a lot, but if you think about it, that is $600 over the course of a year!

I learned you cannot assume your old insurer is giving you the best break, but you need to make sure you are still getting the same type of coverage you had before, and not cutting out coverage to save money.
