Houston Historical Tours was initially found in 2000. Our business has steadily increased for several years. We offer perhaps the greatest diversity of tours in the greater Houston area. We operate over 50 local tours and over two dozen out-of-town tours. The two most popular tours are city tours and Space Center Houston tours. City tours are normally five (5) hours long and cover between 40 to 50 miles; however, these tours can be shortened or lengthened as our clients’ desire. Space Center Houston (SCH) tours are six (6) hours long. Whereas other companies drop off clients at SCH, we are the only company that offers guided tours to our customers to ensure that they will see as much as possible.

We Offer Over 50 Houston Sighseeing Tours 

We also offer over fifty (50) other local tours. We have three (3) regional Houston tours including the Heights, southeast, and southwest Houston tours. We also conduct three (3) unique neighborhood tours, three (3) folk art tours, two (2) religious sites tours, eleven (11) museum tours, three (3) historical tours, two (2) presidential tours, university, cemetery, George Ranch, Port of Houston, home, sports, lives of the rich and infamous, shopping, and separate brewery and winery tours. These include one dozen ethnic themed tours: four (4) African American, four (4) Asian, three (3) Hispanic, and one (1) Jewish tour.

 Seasonal and Holiday Tours Of Houston, Including Haunted Tours

We schedule two night tours after the sun has set. One is a haunted tour. We have the most extensive haunted or spirited tour in Houston with over twenty (20) sites. We offer these tours close to Halloween, on Fridays, the 13th, and as requested. The other is the popular seasonal holiday lights tour in December.

 Houston, Texas Walking Tours

A short popular tour that requires walking is our downtown architectural tour. We will show you homes from the 1800s, take you through 5 of the underground tunnel systems, into a skyscraper, to an observation deck, and through skybridges over a course of two and one-half (2.5) hours.

 Texas Sightseeing Tours Outside of Houston

We lead out-of-town day tours to Austin, Baytown, Beaumont, Bellville, Brenham, Columbia, Danevang, Fort Bend County, Friendswood, Galveston, Gonzales, Humble, Huntsville, League City, Orange, Pasadena and Deer Park, Port Arthur, San Antonio, Schulenberg, Texas City, Washington-on-the-Brazos and Navasota, and more. These tours vary in length with the distance and activities. Friendswood and Galveston are the shortest such tours at six (6) hours and San Antonio is the longest at thirteen and one-half (13.5) hours. Most out-of-town tours are about seven (7) to nine (9) hours long.

 

We also offer overnight tours of between two (2) to eight (8) days to such places as Corpus Christi, Dallas, Fort Worth, New Orleans, San Antonio, the Valley, and West Texas and Big Bend.

 About Houston Historical Tours

Most of our tours are privately arranged. They can be customized to your wants and needs. Ask us how we can make your vacation or tour as enjoyable and satisfying as possible.

 

We offer free pickup and return anywhere within the I-610 Loop. For nominal additional charges to cover the extra time, and gas, we will pickup and return tourists anywhere within 50 miles of downtown Houston. We also offer pickup and delivery services to both Bush Intercontinental Airport of Houston (IAH) and Hobby Airport (HOB).

 

Owner and operator Keith Rosen leads approximately 90% of the tours. Keith has taught history since 1981. He has taught with colleges and universities, including the University of North Texas (UNT) and Texas Southern University (TSU) since 1987. Currently, he teaches with Houston Community College (HCC).

In 2003, the city of Houston chose Keith to be its Master Tour Guide for multicultural tours. In 2007, the Harris County Commissioners appointed Keith to the Harris County Historical Commission.

    I am a national relocation specialist. I wonder if there is a service where people who are relocating to different cities – like Houston, etc. – can be shown around different neighborhoods so they can find possible places to live that they would be comfortable in.
