How, when, and which type of hair straightener should you use

Some women have naturally curly and wavy hair. This is due to the hydrogen bonds, which are in the cortex of the hair. A hair straightener breaks down these bonds with the help of the heated plates, although the hydrogen bonds will re-form if hair is moistened. But will any hair straightener with any type of plate be suitable? This is the million dollar question. There are many types of straighteners, flat irons, and stylers available in the market today. They use plates made of iron, aluminum, ceramic, titanium, and tourmaline. Some of the straighteners also have plates coated with paint, which may peel of, thus damaging your hair. The cheaper products use metal plates, which do not heat evenly and leave hot spots on the plates, which also damages hair. The best products, like the GHD straightener, use ceramic plates, which heat up evenly and do not damage your hair.

Many women trying out hair styling at home using curling irons or a hair straightener also worry about whether using the tools will damage their hair, even if they are of the best quality. Well, a bit of care has to be taken when using any tool, especially when using these tools, as they use heated plates to curl or straighten hair. You should be careful when you set the heat on these tools if you do not know, or are not sure how much heat is required to style your hair the way you want. Some women tend to misjudge the heat of the curling and straightening irons and inadvertently damage their hair. You should always test the heating capacity of a new tool before using it on your hair. A bit of moist tissue paper should be inserted between the plates and held in place for a couple of seconds to see if it singes. If the tissue is singed or discolored, then the tool is too hot to use. But this is not a problem with a GHD straightener as it has a unique inbuilt digital technology to automatically control temperature.

Another issue that worries women who want to straighten their curly hair is when to use a hair straightener and how many times a week or a fortnight can these tools be used? Women should not that the hair should be completely dry before any heated tool is used, whether for curling or straightening. Working with small sections of hair is better that working with large sections or clumps of hair. Applying a bit of hair spray, and curling or passing it through a straightener after it dries, will give the best results. Some women also worry about getting their hair back to a curly, wavy hairstyle after straightening. Well, they don’t have to worry, because the hair straightening done with hair straightening tools like GHD straightener is temporary, and not permanent like the straightening done with chemical compounds.

It is not easy to select a good hair straightener with so many to choose from, but a GHD straightener makes it easy as it is the best product of its kind in the market.
