Discount Dental Plans For Unemployment & More

Do You Need Discount Dental Care? Do You Lack Dental Benefits?

One thing we should not put off is the care of our teeth! Cavities and other dental problems do not wait for us to have comprehensive dental insurance or other benefits from a job. If you are between jobs, do not have dental insurance at your job, or have a dental insurance that does not cover needed dental services you may consider a dental discount plan.

Now a dental discount plan is not the same as dental insurance. In fact, some people who have dental insurance also purchase a discount plan because it helps them save money on services that their other benefit does not cover, or just does not cover very well. Some examples of these services might be cosmetic dentistry, orthodontic braces, crowns, and dentures.

Some Advantages of Discount Dental Plans

  • No long waiting periods – many plans are active right away.
  • A large selection of dentists and other dental service provders that can be looked up online. These dentists are willing to offer plan discounts because they can attract a steady stream of new customers without spending a lot of money on advertising.
  • All types of dental services can be accessed through dental discount plans. These include important dental work like orthodontic braces, cosmetic work, crowns, and dentures.
  • Many discount plans have no age limit and can help retired people save money too.
  • Some plans are run by major insurance companies (even though they are not actually insurance), so they have huge networks of quality dental professionals.
  • Some plans include other services like discounted prescriptions and vision care.

Who Can Dental Discount Plans Help?

  • Unemployed people who lost dental benefits.
  • People who do not have a job that provides dental benefits
  • People with another dental benefit (like insurance) that does not cover all services, or that has a waiting period that has not expired before benefits kick in. In addition, a dental discount plan may help cut costs if the dental insurance has a yearly maximum payment or large deductible.
