Copy Writing Basics for Internet Marketers (IM)
Why Will Copy Writing Make or Break Your Internet Business?
You have to realize that internet surfers are a very impatient lot. With a world of information at their fingertips, and a limited amount of time, they want to find:
- Information that is broken up into short and easy to digest chunks OR…
- Information that is so compelling they will be motivated to neglect their Facebook friends or the latest Youtube video to keep reading!
The most famous and productive online marketers, and here I mean the guys and gals who sell products to other online marketers, all agree that copy writing quality has made the difference between their very profitable, and their unprofitable projects!
You Mean The Big Guys Fail?
And yes, even the big guys have projects that do not work out. What do they do? Do they quit and say IM does not work? No, I think they learn, improve, and move on!
In fact, I just got an email from a very credible online marketer, who charges big bucks to consult for companies who want to improve their online presense. Guess what he talked about? He discussed how good copy turned his online business from a mediocre and hard to manage enterprise into an automatic cash machine!
Include a call to action – Make sure that you let surfers know what you want them to do. And this may seem very obvious, but make sure they understand how to do that action. You would be surprised how often I find websites where it is hard to understand the point of the business, and also how to actually even buy something!
Use Subheadings and lists. Sub headings and lists really help internet copy. People online do not want to read novels most of the time, so make sure you make it very fast and easy for them to pick out the point of each section or page.
You don’t have to dumb it down, but you may have to work fast! Just imagine that you are skimming a lot of pages for information you seek. When that information jumps out at you, that will be where you will focus. Well, that’s how surfers are most of the time. Yes, internet surfers can read. But will they read?
